American Psychological Association did a poll in March 2022 stated that more than and A 80% of Americans feel we are more stressed than before due to the last two years of the Pandemic, Insurrections, now dealing with shootings, inflations, attacks on minority groups, women’s rights taken away from them, and more.
You are not alone, I am too.
It reminds me of the times I was in my mental prison while in a relationship with my x. The mind fog and confusion drove me into numbing myself iwth alscohol.
This extreme religious right wing controlling mindset triggers my core wounds in being raised in that very same strict patriachy religion. It angers me, drives a division between myself and my family who still all drink the coolaid and celebrating for the overturn of Roe V. Wade.
Meanwhile while a 10 year old is raped and the law prohibited her from getting an abortion, and she had to travel to Indiana to get the procedure, where it is also banned, but a doctor had the humanity to help her and is under investigation.
These times are extremely dark and the flashlight is being shown bright on our nations shadows and underbelly and it doesn’t look good.
However, I have hope that 80% of us do not agree with the tyrannical evangelical white supremesists — that means 80% of us can vote locally and nationally those who are of the old patriarchal ways out. Side note — did you know Roe V Wade even was brought to the Supreme Court was because a local Missouri court opened up the issue again.
It is just like when you are at your breaking point in the relationship with the narcissist, you have a moment of clarity and you so , “No more!” and you leave.
We must have resolve to muster our discipline just as we did, or do with the narcissist in our lives.
The power is within each and every one of us to push against this tyranny.
And in your personal life, you may be dealing with this dictatorship in domestic abuse directly, and feel hearing anymore about what is happening in the world will send you over the edge.
I write this not to put more stress upon you, but for you to gain resolve to stay away if you have broken up with the narcissist, or they you. You see, the average amount of attempts to leave an abusive relationship is seven times. I personally left for good on my eight attempt. And approximately 75% of women are killed by their abuser. And pregnancy now provides a greater risk of domestic violence after abortion bans.
The signs to watch for in yourself that your attempt to leave is temporary are:
- You keep an open line of communication with your abuser open.
- You feel deep separation anxiety and miss them.
- You feel guilty about the argument that instigated you to leave.
- Their silent treatment makes you squirm.
- You share children.
- You do not have a permanent safe place to move in.
- Your X, love bombs you to win you back and you like it.
- You are thinking while in extreme emotions.
- You have not sought professional help for your mental health.
- When you ponder on what happened, you feel the conflict was normal.
